What is a myth?
A myth is a story that may or may not be true. There may not be records or other proof that they happened, but at least some parts of myths may be true. Some myths may have started as ‘true’ stories but as people re-told them some parts may have been changed by mistake, or to make them more interesting. All cultures have myths and this mythology has been developed over time. Mythology includes the legends of our history, our religions, stories of how the world was created, and our heroes. These stories have great symbolic power, and this may be a major reason why they survive as long as they do, sometimes for thousands of years.
What is a hero?
A hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. It can be the main character in a book or a film or a person with superhuman qualities. It can also be a modern-day hero, a person who has performed a heroic act or simply our own personal hero, our role model, who we look up to.
Examples can be:
– a patriotic or national hero (sportsman, politician, human rights defender…..)
– a fictitious hero (superhero or film star)
– an icon or role model (fashion, tv, music)
– a defender of common values
– unknown heroes (war heroes, firemen, rescue workers, charity workers….)
– our own personal hero (member of the family who you look up to)

En fait je dois préparer mon orale sur la notion mythe et héro et je dois prendre l’autobiographie de Nelson Mandela intitulé Long « Walk to Freedom » comme texte étudié en classe mais je ne sais pas comment introduire le texte dans mon exposé
Mandela est un héros civil, pour tous les africains et pour la paix, je pense que tu peux te pencher également sur les qualités qui sont mises en avant dans le film comme la détermination, le pardon etc…

Bonsoir, je suis en train de bloquer sur le choix de ma notion pour mon prochain exposé, je pense aux Myths et Héros pour parler des réécritures. Mes documents principaux sont des articles qui montre que l’intrigue du film Avatar correspond complètement au film Pocahontas, mais je ne sais quelle approche je pourrais faire entre les deux films sachant que j’ai cette problématique…

non, pas d’erreur : a person, cela peut etre he or she en anglais alors pr pas faire de jaloux (!) on met « their » comme pronom.

There isn’t any mistake. just that English is much more complicated than we thought!!! they do use « their » when they don’t want to bother with the gender feminine or masculine.
